Scott Kurnit is currently advising several companies. Kurnit has purchased eight companies and sold two where he was CEO. He has worked in four joint ventures, including the one he ran for MCI and News Corp. He has managed six rounds of private and public financing including an IPO. Employed directly or through JVs he has worked in the highest levels of Warner, Viacom, News Corp., PBS, IBM, MCI and Sears.

Kurnit's latest corporate activity was as Founder, Chairman and CEO of About, Inc. as it went from his kitchen table to a public market value exceeding $1.5 billion. During his tenure, About was the 5th most visited web property and first among news, information and entertainment sites. Having been acquired by Primedia in March 2001, the company continues in its leadership position under the direction of Kurnit's co-founder, Bill Day.

Kurnit has been named one of Advertising Age's annual "100 superstars of U.S. marketing." He has been inducted into the American Advertising Federation's Hall of Achievement. He won the prestigious Vanguard award from the National Cable Television Association.
